We are looking for a dedicated IT Placement Specialist to join our growing team. As a placement specialist, you will utilize your effective communication and networking skills to assist unemployed and underemployed candidates fulfill a path to an empowered tech career. Responsibilities and Duties

Outreach and Recruitment

  • Works with students to determine a career path.
  • Ensures that student resumes are kept up to date.
  • Contacting employers to secure job opportunities for all students.
  • Matches students to employers according to their skills, abilities, and interests.
  • Maintains a database of all available Rhode Island tech jobs for students to access
  • Builds and maintains working relationships with Rhode Island area employers and employment agencies/recruiters toward understanding their needs and their job requirements.
  • Participates as a member of the team; working cooperatively with Director of Student Engagement and trainers to assist IEL students in obtaining an empowered tech career.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Have a proven track record of no less than 2 years’ experience developing employer contacts for job placement purposes
  • Have experience placing IT candidates
  • Be a highly self-motivated, energetic, outcome-oriented individual who demonstrates strong interpersonal skills
  • The ability to take initiative and work creatively
  • Have excellent organizational and planning skills
  • Communicates clearly, verbally and in writing
  • Have ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Deal professionally and sensitively with a diverse audience and a wide range of contacts at different levels
  • Ability to handle a number of projects and prioritize work
  • Strong computer skills
  • Agency experience a preferred
  • IT experience preferred plus

Candidate must be able to commit 40 hours a week and have flexible schedule.

As an IT Trainer, you will utilize your effective communication and teaching skills as well as tech experience to assist unemployed and underemployed candidates fulfill a path to an empowered tech career. If you are looking for an opportunity where you will work as part of a team, to help others, then this may be the right opportunity for you.

Responsibilities and Duties

Responsible for preparing, conducting, and evaluating IEL technical training courses. Prepares literature and materials to be used within courses and design exercises to enhance classroom experience. Conduct IEL courses with a focus on empowerment and individualized student attention.

Training, teaching, empowering

  • Prepare and conduct technical training programs.
  • Assess training needs and certification requirements.
  • Deploy training to students.
  • Prepare training material and classroom agenda.
  • Conduct presentations and webinars.
  • Create instructor materials (course outlines, background material, instructional materials, and training aids).
  • Continuously enhance technical instructional delivery and presentation skills.
  • Mentor students in the subject matter, content, and course delivery techniques for assigned technical courses.
  • Ensure the quality and consistency of course content throughout a course life cycle.
  • Plan and direct classroom training, electronic learning, multimedia programs, and other computer-aided instructional technologies.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Have a proven track record of no less than 2 years’ experience in tech
  • Previous training/teaching experience preferred
  • Be a highly self-motivated, energetic, outcome-oriented individual who demonstrates strong interpersonal skills
  • The ability to take initiative and work creatively
  • Have excellent organizational and planning skills
  • Communicates clearly, verbally and in writing
  • Have ability to work independently as well as part of a team
